Hi all!
You may or may not have heard of me, I am Luke but I go by the pseudonym "Fireballuke" (Yes I know there is only 2 L's). I specialise in digital media such as photography, video, animation, web & graphic design.
Andy came to me, in the beginning, to develop the assets for an Idea he had, a youtube channel that was aiming to be a more entertainment-based reviewer platform for Airgun/accessories reviews.
AAR logo designed by Fireballuke
I had previously been involved with weapons in my past from air rifles and black powder through to firearms and Airsoft so we agreed that there was an opening online for this type of content.
Armed with this I went back to the office
and developed the AAR logo you are all probably familiar with and probably own something with it on.
It was developed to incorporate 3 noticeably different air weapons in its design all placed on a shield with the crosshairs splitting the shield.
It was designed this way with the Youtube Into in mind. Andy asked for very few changes (You may notice the slight difference between this and the final one) just a change of colour and speed so it would sync with the music he was composing for the channel.
I was tasked with coaching Mrs AAR (who would now be Andys Public Relations manager) on social media as well as acting as photography and video consultant to organise hardware and software requirements of the channel.
As the channel grew in popularity thanks mainly due to Andys weekly postage and the increased production value, I have now been brought on once more as the webmaster to develop the site you are reading this on, it was originally just going to be a e-commerce platform for merchandise, however, I have also since incorporated a members site and a forum for you all to use.
As I stay with the project, I will be taking any feedback on issues or feature requests for the website, so if you have seen something wrong, let me know 😄
Cheers guys, and don't forget to follow me on social media to find out what I'm working on

Hi Luke, I wrote the following as a Word doc to Andy to copy + paste as a new post into the forum, then saw your question and thought in fitted in as an answer - hope that's okay with you?:
Hello there Andy and Mrs AAR,
I enjoyed your website having just found it and taken a good tour.
However, I hope you won’t mind me saying so and pointing out some things that may be of interest and which I find irritating and off putting and given there might be others in the same boat here goes …
Looking at your ‘Home’ and ‘Contact Us’ pages, which are almost the same, I was wondering if the banner needs to be so big? For me, it fills the screen of my laptop and goodness knows what it does on a smartphone or tablet etc.?
Another thing is the banner’s 3 to 4 second picture change on loop, is most distracting and once you have seen the 8 pictures, (also displayed beneath), I would say that is enough. Obviously if you want to see what’s available to buy, you go to the ‘Shop’ page.
I understand you advertise to sell your merchandise, but I would suggest there is such a thing as over-kill (no pun intended). I suspect this could well have a negative impact with some people being over-faced by it and reverting to accessing your reviews via other sites like 101 or web searches.
Another thing for me is your ‘Home’ page which dare I say, it is somewhat uninspiring and doesn’t seem to reflect what you are about in the same way as your reviews. It doesn’t indicate your passion for airguns, your expertise, experience or knowledge nor does it give even the merest hint of your lovely sense of humour which you inject into your reviews, which is oh so part of your charm and the whole caboodle is why I enjoy watching your reviews and value your opinion.
Popping some of this into your front ‘Home’ page and perhaps airgun information e.g. what they are, types etc. would make it more interesting from the outset and encourage those AAR uninitiated folks, to keep on-a-lookin’ beyond the home page and end up becoming your fans just like myself.
I have been following your reviews since getting into airguns in March this year and now own several CO2 pistols, revolvers, and rifles thanks in part to you and your reviews.
Same as Chris, Luke. I use an iPad mainly and they are probably still too big on that.
Hi Luke!
One thing I have noticed, is: The menu(bar) on mobile devices is really big... much like the desktop version.
Even for tapping on tactile screens it could shrink by half - or create a hamburger menu.
Thank you very much for administering this website and the other channels for AAR!
Chris
