I am considering a red dot for my Zoraki HP01 and am unsure what size (assuming all will fit!). Hawke offer 20, 25 and 30 options. Is it best to stay small (lightest) or go large(r) for more light?
Hi! I have a Red Dot from Walther on a Beretta Storm - with 11 brightness settings. But can use the two lowest only, because every other setting makes the dot seem even bigger, covering already the whole aimpoint at 10 meters... if you mean that "size".
Some models can switch between dot and little crosshair with empty center.
Thanks. My query was about the objective lens and whether smallest is best for a pistol. The Zoraki is pretty accurate anyway but I am looking for a bit more and hoping a red dot will be an improvement (both eyes open for example). Hawke will be my choice mainly as my local RFD has them in stock. I agree size of the red dot itself is something to be handled with care. I will update when I get it fitted and have some experience to report.
You need to check what rail the HP01 has, 9-11mm or weaver as Hawke specify both for the Vantage red dot.
I'm sure you know that 20 / 25 / 30 means the size of the objective lens and it does make quite a difference to the weight. The best idea would be to try all three at an RFD, but if pushed I would say the lightest is probably the best for a pistol.
