Hi everyone, I bought my son a gamo phox at the end of last year and we've joined a range. We're both really enjoying shooting together. He's doing pretty good but in the competitions he can't match the guys with the top end guns. I really want to encourage him, so what would you consider to be a good competitive pcp to move on to. Look forward to your suggestions,

I had a Phox, great gun, very accurate, might be worth looking at a better scope rather than changing the gun, I still have a Gamo Venari in 22 which I use for hunting, its very accurate but not very portable due to its extra length. I dont know if you have tried different pellets, the Gamo/BSA barrels are not particularly pellet fussy but if you are shooting long range try different brands and weights as it effects the accuracy. Just my thoughts, you should find the Gamo more capable than you would think for the budget.
I have 2x BSA R10's .177 _.22 (10 shot magaziine) with Hawke 6-24x50AO mil dot IR scope, very accurate once you set up the scope, and quite a high shot count,
I shoot a bsa ultimate clx with a hawk eclipse scope and I can definitely recommend it if it is within your budget remember to shop around for bundle deals
