OOPS! bought an M1 carbine after seeing Andys Review.
before using i ran an oily patch thru the bore which brought out some black greasy residue leaving a mirror bright bore.
I then ran a dry patch and loaded up, the first thing i noticed was that the Co2 piercer punctures the capsule before an effective seal occurs, losing some gas. an additional thin teflon washer would probablly sort this out.
Now for the bad news! after about 7 shots (using Crossman BBs) one jammed in the bore!
I removed it with a cleaning rod and resumed firing but was dismayed to find the brass bore section had come out of the muzzle! It appeared to be held in by an "O" ring in a groove at the muzzle end.
The breech end has a couple of notches that suggest that some mechanical retention was intended but no screw marks evident, also the bore is slotted with a square recess .( dont know where it was meant to be oriented relative to barrel shroud! also a thin slot (paper thin) is cut into the brass (alignment?)
none of this enters the breech section.
Tried to find a Web video on stripping Carbine but non apparent Guess i will strip it down and try to figure what gives.
