today i had a visit from the boys in blue ....a social worker referred my thompson m1a1 i happened to be messing with to the police .2 arrived and said they were going to seize my guns until i joined a shooting club as i didnt have a licence.i told them i dont need a licence as all my guns fired bbs using co2 .they searched my house and got me to explain where i kept them and what security i had .i told them i am legally entitled to possess air rifles and guns without a licence and if they take them away i would contact my solicitor as i have £2,700 in guns and loads more in ammo and acessories. One went to call the firearms officer and the mood changed to one of advice. i feel i have done everything to make my guns secure they advise locking my bedroom door keeping the guns unloaded( i know i should but not cos they told me) after they virtually questioned me for an hour and made me show them all my guns they left saying everything i was doing was legal.what a waste of time ...the police should know ,especially as far as firearms are concerned, what the law is and not waste my time .as for the so called friend he has a lot to answer for if he has the balls to visit again

I've not had any trouble with the local police at my Mums house, I think they would just look at my age and criminal record which has nothing on it and think they have more important stuff to deal with.
chapter 3
i cut myself and had the ambulance attend .yesterday the district nurse was coming to redress the wound and guess what i got a call saying she was coming and could i put all my guns away before she came....i think my card has been marked by the police and people think im a bloody terrorist. its ironic that the district nurse who visited her husband is into airguns and i chowed her my collection and she loved them all .i am trying to hook up with her hubby bas a gun mate ......MORE IS BOUND TO FOLLOW
Seems like the face on your policeman and the one dealing with us was much the same to begin with.
Not sure I like the bit about your GP though - weird or what???
Worth thinking about? ... May be a good idea to speak to him about too, as I bet you put the wind up him for sure! ... As the saying goes, 'there's always two sides to every story' and better that than lose a friend
i think i should forgive him ...he arrived early and i had a replica thompson m1a1 machine gun in my hands pmsl
Wow! What a to-do!
This was the very reason I took my first 2 airguns i.e. an Umarex Walther PPK and a Smith & Wesson M&P40 in their boxes having just picked up from the gun shop, over to the city centre police station to show and inform the police of what I have, where I live, of my new hobby, intensions and purpose of use.
I also explained that I felt pretty sure our neighbours who seemed to have an overriding interest in our business, would waste no time in reporting us to the police once we started to use our airguns for plinking in our back garden: thus in forewarning them, it was hoped that this would prevent the police from knocking on our door as a result.
After an initially shocked desk policeman with much puffing and blowing and a considerably negative attitude, followed by much toing and froing leaving his desk and returning having made a number of calls for advice and confirmation to the police firearms officer in response to what we were saying, things gradually started to change.
The policeman had passed on safety advice to us and gained more information about the subject himself, which has to be good and let’s face it, you cannot expect them to know everything about all subjects they may become involved with … life is a learning curve after all.
By the time we left we were all laughing together and he admitted we were doing absolutely nothing wrong, it was a good idea to get things checked out for our peace of mind and he wished us well and hoped we enjoyed our new hobby.
So far, we have had no police call to our home, the neighbours on the other side have been over to join in the fun … so fingers crossed win, win all round.
ps i hadnt the heart to tell the cops i have 2 pistols arriving plus the helfire m4 carbine at the weeken lol
