Hi, I Have just bought a Gamo Phox Mkii in .22 for some target shooting and pest control (pigeons). On first using the gun I have noticed that the bolt seems to catch on the magazine when re loading and I have to give the mag a little wiggle to allow the bolt to go forward. Is this a fault? or may be its just me? Can anything be done to rectify this issue?

Hi I’ve not long got the Gamo roadster (used) with the 10x magazine was working fine with some marksman pellets I got with the purchase. Thought I try some other pellets see if made difference to my useless shooting, anyway got some field target trophy and some bsa gold star. Loaded mag with both and seem to jam or spit out with bot, check mag again with marksman all seemed fine. Then took multi shot mechanism off to find the the two other pellets really tight when barrel loading and the spring in the load mechanism just wasn’t strong enough to push pellet in barrel far enough. Don’t know if this is the cause of your problem but might be worth a look.
I’ve seen a couple of people mention problems with the Gammo Phox Mkii magazine but I still don’t get if it’s a design flaw or more about how it’s loaded/maintained. Does it usually jam after a few shots or only when it’s not seated properly? I might have missed that detail from earlier posts. Funny enough, in another forum I saw people discussing fps unlocker, and it reminded me how in every niche (air rifles or gaming) folks are always searching for little tweaks to make things smoother.
