Members Competition - Snowpeak AP900
£2.00
Buy 20+ Tickets for £10
The Snowpeak AP900 might be the most talked-about air rifle of 2025, mostly because it committed the ultimate crime. It turned up cheap. Like, suspiciously cheap. The kind of price that makes people assume corners were cut and standards were lowered. Except that didn’t really happen.
Yes, the finish is basic. No one is pretending it is boutique. But performance-wise, the AP900 absolutely refuses to behave like a budget rifle. It shoots properly, handles well, and does exactly what it is supposed to do without drama. That alone was enough to send forums, dealers, and WhatsApp groups into meltdown.
It has quietly become a serious contender for Gun of the Year 2025, although we all know how that works. Being genuinely good does not always guarantee a nomination. Fees, favours, and a few quiet nods behind closed doors tend to help more. Snowpeak and SMK clearly did not fancy that game, which is probably why you will not see it on any glossy shortlists.
If you are still doubtful, ask your local airgun dealer how many AP900s they sold before running out of stock. Most of them will tell you the same thing. Everything is gone within 3 weeks of public release.
Why the AP900 caused a stir
The AP900 delivers far more than its price suggests. A sidelever action, a surprisingly decent trigger, and a removable folding skeleton stock make it compact, practical, and easy to live with. It is lightweight, straightforward, and brutally effective at the job it was designed for.
If you missed your chance when they were first released and have since been told the next UK batch is not expected until March, this competition might be your only shot at owning one this side of the British Shooting Show.
