Hi Guys. Recently bought a CP2 from Drapers to kill some time during the lock down and as it has been over 30 years since I last owned an air rifle (HW 77), I am really enjoying pinking and the like in the back garden. I have put a scope (4 x 32) on it and settled on a set up with the rifle stock fitted but the pistol barrel on. Keeps the penetration and noise to a minimum. I wondered if anyone had put a front foregrip on theirs and what had they bought & where from? Love the gun and looking to tinker a little with it. Bought a trial box of JSB Diablo pellets and it really doesn't like the longer samples.

Where do you get all the bits and pieces
Anyone done a .22 full length barrel swap, I’d is there a straight swap or do I need to get a blank machined to fit?

John Foy, hi I got your message via email but I'm unable to respond directly for some reason.
Your message:
Hi mate I no you have done a bit of work to the smk victory cp2 by doing the pcp conversion and turned up the power what are the rules on that mate becaue I have been offered one in a swop and it’s been turned up and not sure wa the rules are on it because of it been classed as a pistol
The PCP/HPA conversion alone won't raise the power level significantly, so to be absolutely sure you're on the right side of the law get your CP2 chronographed to see what power it's kicking out, regardless of what the owner tells you.
The rules for the UK are simple - they remain the same.
In pistol form the gun must produce no more than 6 FPE, and no more than 12 FPE in rifle form (in rifle form the gun must measure more than 600mm long).
Assuming I keep the long barrel on and the stock fitted, I can legally produce 12 FPE. Obviously I could fit the short barrel and/or remove the stock which would result in an over-powered, illegal pistol in less than 2 minutes, but that's where personal responsibility comes in. I don't want to get into any trouble with plod - so I won't do that.
Along the same lines, now I have the knowledge to bring the CP2 up to full power, I have found some very simple tricks that could make it MUCH more than 12 FPE, in fact I had to down-tune mine to get it to 12 FPE as I'm not an FAC holder.
Personal responsibility again!
p.s.
I'm not going to publicly share info on how to make a CP2 into an illegal firearm before anyone asks!!!
thats for the CP2
thanks
hi guys can you tell me where i could possibly get the parts needed to convert from co2 to pcp ?
many thanks
thanks very much sir, appreciate the answer.
fylo
Pro's would be a much higher shot count and consistent air pressure due to the large air supply. Cons - just the extra weight and money outlay.
From memory the conversion cost @ £130 for all the bottle, valve and drop block.
No more C02 capsules (it's all completely reversible though), but you'll need a pump or dive tank to fill the bottle
Not a brilliant pic, I've asked the mods if I can start a new thread detailing the modifications including power upgrades
Yes sir, the adjustable cheek piece was from ebay. It's all 3D printed and was £30 delivered. It says 'no longer available', but here's the link to the item I bought:
re the CO2, I've converted the gun to PCP/HPA using a drop block which replaces the CO2 capsule and an air bottle from an airsoft store online. I've also fitted a on/off valve between the 2 so I can shut the air off in the bottle safely to remove the system when working on the gun or for storage
hey man, what optic do you have?
Fitted a foregrip from Amazon (£10.99). The rifle‘s weaver rail is very small, much smaller than the fixture on the foregrip. I tightened it up as much as possible so it is firm enough for use and it makes it much more stable in the standing position.
Might benefit from fixing a small weaver riser first so the grip could be fitted with part of the grip’s fixture under the rifle‘S hand guard Making it more stable again.
Hi all,
I have a couple of .22 CP2's which I love, great fun!
Sorry I can't comment on the front foregrip, mine are on a bipod.
I've found that they prefer a domed head pellet i.e. Webley Accupell or Air Arms Diablo Field, and I'm waiting for delivery of JSB Diablos and JSB Hades to try in them.
Is anyone able to answer any nerdy questions on the CP2?
